1. Download the Trezor Suite
Start by getting the official Trezor Suite desktop app for the best experience or open the web app if you prefer a browser-based flow. Always download from the official domain (trezor.io) or follow the links provided in official communications to avoid phishing sites.
2. Install and launch the Suite
For desktop, run the installer and grant standard permissions. If you use the web app, open it in a modern browser. The Suite guides you through checks that validate the app and the connection to Trezor servers; allow these checks to complete before proceeding.
3. Connect and set up your Trezor
Plug your Trezor into your computer using the supplied cable, follow the on-screen prompts to initialize the device, pick a secure PIN, and create a new wallet. The Suite will display the device-confirmed steps — always confirm information on the Trezor device screen itself.
4. Record and protect your recovery
During setup the device presents a recovery seed (a list of words). Write this seed down on paper or a purpose-built metal backup and store it offline. Do not store your recovery phrase digitally or share it. This seed is the ultimate backup for your funds.
5. Move assets to your Trezor
Once your wallet is initialized, you can receive crypto by generating addresses in Trezor Suite and sending funds from exchanges or other wallets. Start with a small test transfer to confirm everything works as expected.
